Getting the most out of GemQuote

Here are some tips on how to describe your job to get the best results from the AI quote generator.

Quoting for more than one job

If you need to quote for multiple jobs at once, simply list them all in the Describe your job field, separated by commas or on new lines.

Example: "Replace bathroom tap, fix leaking radiator valve in bedroom, and service the boiler — all in a 3-bed semi in Leeds"

Adding an extra item to a job

Want to add something on top of the main job? Just mention it with "also include" or "and also" in your description.

Example: "Full bathroom retile — also include replacing the toilet roll holder and towel rail"

Specifying what's included

Use "including" to specify exactly what materials, labour or services are covered in the quote.

Example: "Paint living room and hallway, including all paint, masking, prep work and two coats"

Excluding something from a job

Use "excluding" or "not including" to make it clear what's not covered, so customers know exactly what they're getting.

Example: "Full kitchen fit — excluding appliances and worktops, labour only"

Adding sizes and quantities

The more specific you are about sizes, measurements and quantities, the more accurate your quote will be. Include square metres, number of rooms, length, or any relevant measurements.

Example: "Lay laminate flooring in living room (approx 25m²) and hallway (8m²), 2 doorways to cut around"

Editing the quote after it's generated

Once your quote is generated, you can tap on any section to edit the text, prices or line items directly. You don't need to regenerate — just tap and type.

Tip: Tap on any price to adjust it, or tap on a line item description to reword it before sending to your customer.
